Live bird shooting is our in our history as well I believe in Canada we shot what was called snowbirds basically a sparrow.

I have never participated in a live bird shoot though I knew a fellow who was a world class trap shooter that had and he said it was a hell of a challenge and humbling experience. He also said it involves very heavy betting and is an extremely expensive game to take part in. The rules were very interesting to hear as he explained them. I think it would be awesome to try. He did it in Europe where Pigeons are in no short supply and considered a major pest in some places so it didn't sound as if there was any feeling of not being sporting? Those were fun videos to watch.

I'm not against shooting live birds. I don't really have an opinion one way or another. One look at the price of live bird guns make it clear its a rich man's sport and I can barely afford the ammo to feed the traps guns I have now.
