Get a .30 cal snake if you're going to use it.
It's just my opinion but you could take the $30 + that those things go for and buy a moderate .308 cleaning kit with rods and brushes and clean your barrel a hell of a lot better Sir.
Especially if you're going to be shooting corrosive ammo out of her.
Just a thought. I found bore snakes are great for your average hunter who shoots 4 rounds a year out of a bolt gun (including his sight in shots for the season) but if you're going to put a lot of bullets down the barrel and want to take care of it properly, get a rod cleaning kit with metal brushes and small bottle of good bore solvent.
You can't beat it with a piece of rope and some tiny little bristles. And they wear out fast, you can't just thread on a new brush once the bristles go. You have to drop another $30, over and over and over....
