are you suffering an acute but temporary case of buyers remorse?
If you are, the S&B aficionados might require more info along the lines of "what is the intended use?" before encouraging or discouraging your present state of questioning.
If I could have reasoned spending 3200.00 for something I would use for fun on a rifle, I would have bought a S&B PMII 5-25X56 in a heartbeat.
I don't think it's a mistake at all unless, of course, you plan on hunting dangerous game in the veldt! There's plenty of optics out there for a substantially cheaper price but hey, the best is still the best. And...... you get bragging rights.
If you didn't have the cash for it and put it on credit you did make an expensive mistake. If you had the $$ for it and like top tier glass,,,nothing to worry about.

X2, I forgot to mention that point. It's not something I think about because it's not a problem I have.(not that I have loads of money, I just don't run deficits or carry any debt. It's an encumberance I choose to live without even though it entails waiting longer for some things.)
Thanks for the comments guys. Good stuff! I went shooting with a guy from work and he had a Schmidt & Bender on his heavy barreled Weatherby 22-250. How clear that scope was really floored me. Right then I seen a real difference, and I got hooked on good quality glass. I knew I had to have one! I wanted something I could be proud of too. I actually bought it used for about $1200. They're very pricey new, noticed Wolverine seems to have some of the best prices of all the places I've checked so far. Up to now the best scopes I've owned are an Elite 6500 and a Vari-X III. Maybe some day I'll buy a Nightforce and a Swarovski. Or a S&B PMII 5-25X56 but then I'd have to buy a Sako TRG to go with it LOL
I could put the 4-16 X50mm on my SPS Varmint in .308. I was originally thinking of a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 FFP MRAD for that gun soon so maybe I'll talk myself into buying a precision gun in something like a 22-250 or 300 Win. Mag.
