Something in my scope?

Good evening,

I was adding a cheek rest to one of my rifles and decided to peak down my scope( Athlon Argos btr 6-24). As I'm fiddling around, I notice some kind of hair or fibre inside the scope. I cleaned both lenses with a Zeiss optics tissue so it's definitely not on the surface. It seems to be between the shooter side lense and the reticle. It disappears as I increase the zoom and appears again on the lower zoom levels. Neither the zoom ring, focus, parallax, or turrets appear to change the orientation of the object. It is protruding directly up from the bottom of the image.

Any idea what this is or if I can get it to go away? I've emailed Athlon but they are closed until tomorrow.

It looks like a piece of rubber lens seal has dried out and splintered off. It wouldn't be a surprise to find the inert gas has leaked out,too. I had an older Bushnell scope that did the same thing. It should be quite easily repaired by someone who knows what they're doing.

I have a scope that fogged up in cold wet weather this spring, and the seal to the objective lens has bulged so I doubt that my unit has an inert gas charge either.

Who would be able to repair / re-gas an out of warranty scope?

Its a Falcon 1.5x5-30mm. All works fine, except for the fogging during heavy rain! (Its a cheap scope, but I like them and they are usually good.

Got this in to Red Star for return. They replaced it no problem. They seemed to think either dried out ring or too much loctite during assembly. The replacement went out for my first kick at 300 yards this weekend and worked great.
