Sometimes I wish I was rich...

Wish people called me about lead. Only phone calls I get are for broken stoves, fridges and washing machines. Not worth nearly what a good source of lead is. :(

8000 lb, i would guess around $3k

.....actually Once I read his original post I hit kijiji looking for old sail boats for sale... They do pop up cheap around here from time to time but no guarantee they have lead in the keel being fresh water boats... I've seen some advertised for under 2k, allmost a bargain.

The cheaper boats have cast iron keels, so no bargain.

Last Wednesday and Thursday a buddy and I hauled away the lead and sand from an indoor range that was getting an upgrade. We transported about 7000 pounds to the site where we have our wood fired smelter. Three years ago we removed the sand and lead from this same range that had been stored in barrels and a bin for years. They needed it moved. We got about 6000 pounds of nice soft lead out of that haul. We have been selling this lead for $0.60/lb to local black powder and other shooters. Smelting lead with a buddy on a nice day is like going out fishing for a day and you have about 400 to 500 pounds of lead ingots to show for your effort.
