Trying to get into skeet shooting but am unaware of where to go, my club in okotoks is pistol only. Also, is it possible to go by myself to shoot skeet?thanks guys

The Calgary firearms centure is just outside of DeWinton, they have 8(I belive) trap houses, three skeet ranges, a sporting clays field and an archery range. They are open

They are also open Wednesday noon- 8PM or dusk. The trap range is voice activated so if it is not busy you may practice by yourself.

Skeet Shooting at Dewinton

I generally practice skeet at least once a week at DeWinton. Just PM me and I will be either happy to show you how not to shoot skeet or I will have some of the other regulars join you. In the new year we will be having a Wednesday night league shoot that you might want to try.

Not busy at all. If you wish to shoot trap the range is voice activated so you may shoot if you are the only one. For skeet you will need a shooting buddy or someone to pull for you. Only closed monday, tuesdays and holidays.

They have one olympic bunker (that hardly ever works, 'cause no one hardly ever uses it) 3 skeet fields ( at least one of which can be set for International ) about a dozen trap fields( some set for doubles) and a 5 stand. Almost no waiting unless you want the bunker, then you may have a long wait as it takes 3 people to run it.

I went skeet shooting at the Calgary Firearms Center yesterday. They are open sundays year-round (from noon till 6). Tonnes of fun! I love trap shooting there as well.
