I've got a few emails from folks who found it difficult to find threads and information in our MKB (Milsurp Knowledge Base) and wanted to know if they could be re-ordered. I thought everyone knew this, but I guess many don't, so here goes.......
At the top of any forum (ie: Milsurp Knowledge Base Forum), there's a header line that says:
If you click on Thread, the listing of threads gets sorted and re-displayed in alphabetical order by Subject. If you click on Thread Starter, the listing of threads gets sorted and re-displayed in alphabetical order by the poster's name. If you click on Last Post, the listing of threads gets sorted and re-displayed in the order of the most recent posting date. Got the idea!
So, here's a sort of the Milsurp Knowledge Base by Thread. Notice it's much easier to read the individual thread sections by subject now, particularly whether it's about the actual firearms, or it's the accessory and research materials associated with them.
Finally, the options titled Forum Tools and Search this Forum are drop down boxes that show other options, including whether you want to subscribe to the forum and be automatically notified by email of any new posts. For this option to work, you need to have it also set in your User CP (User Control Panel) in the top left corner of your CGN display. The Search this Forum option lets you search just within the individual forum only. It's different from the global Search function that appears up under your name in the top right corner of the screen. This individual forum search function can be used for isolating your search, for example within the MKB only, in order to just look for specific information. Note: the search string must be greater than 3 characters.
Once you're reading posts, there's also a set of options at the top of the screen as follows:
The Thread Tools drop down box let's you show a printable version of the post, which can be valuable for wanting to print a hard copy of research for later review. The Display Modes drop down box let's you select one of three ways to display all of the posts in any thread.
1. Linear Mode
2. Switch to Hybrid Mode
3. Switch to Threaded Mode
Experiment with these options and see if they improve the speed and efficiency with which you're able to use not only the MKB, but also CGN in general.
Hope this helps some of you.......

Badger
