so does anyone make a product like what we use to sift the media out of cleaned brass, to sort 9mm from .40, or .40 from .45 etc? I envision something with long slots of the desired size in it, and the smaller brass just falls through.

It was like those russian matryoshka (stacking) dolls. The 9 fit nicely in the 40 which fit in the 45. Didn't need pliers, just some extra time.
