I have been on the lookout for my first AR/Military style rifle, but I'm not really willing to pay the premium price tag without some good advice. I've been to several websites including: Lewis Machine & Tool, Rock River Arms, Stag Arms and Bushmaster. So far the Stag Arms model 1 5.56 NATO is my choice. Can anyone confirm that this is the right selection?, or suggest a better one.
:runaway:

Milspec is milspec. I've owned an older Colt and have newish Armalite. As far as fit / finish / and "shootability", I couldn't tell the difference between the two. That beening said, the Stag looks real good price / quailty wise, and will be my choice when I replace the 20" HBAR Colt I NEVER should have sold :( .

My pref of all those you listed is the LMT, then Stag. LMT is more 'milspec' than the others listed with their std Uppers (1/7, M4 ramps, etc.). Only thing I would like to see is parkerizing under the FSB b/c I am anal.

Of course, a Colt LE6921 would be sweeeeeet (in best Cartman voice). ;)

Can't get them anymore. The only option would be to find a used one, but I doubt anyone would give it up. Maybe if you offered at least 5 figures or something ;)

You really can't go wrong with any of those. Throw DPMS and Armalite onto your list as well... and search around in the exchange forum, you can save a few bucks going used.

My DPMS is rock solid and the fit/finish is absolutely amazing. I've also got an RRA upper on the way and can't wait to try that out.

I also am just getting ready to buy a Stag-15 L1, it seems to be what all the know how guys say would be a good start. As this is my first Milspec
