So after a couple years of humming and hawing about getting my first .22 I finally decided it's time to suck it up and just get one already, nothing fancy but functional. How's this sound from whole sale sports:

795SS 795 Stainless 22 LR - 219.95
707135 Clip BA & SA 1988+ Nickel 10 Rnd 19.99
73-3948 Trophy Scope Multi-X Matte 3-9x40 119.95
49041 Detachable Top Mount Rings 1" Matte Medium 24.99

If you all review well i'll be placing my order tomorrow :) Does anyone known when Marlin will make a high capacity mag and why they haven't already? Thanks for any advice!

I just recently bought a Marlin 982VS from Wholesale. It's a .22 win mag. I thought about getting a normal .22 but decided I wanted a little more punch in the rounds. Now, mines a bolt and the one you're looking at is semi, but these little Marlins are great for the price. The only down side is the lack of aftermarket accessories compared to a 10/22. And as far as I know, there are no high cap mags for Marlins. At least I haven't come across any. If you find some, let me know. I also bought the same scope that you're looking at, but in silver. I couldn't be happier with it. Check out rimfirecentral.com for more info.

I doubt we will be seeing any high cap mags for the Marlins any time soon. The Marlin just doesn't have the popularity like the 10/22 does. Having said that, if you were to find enough guys and email Marlin you may be able to work something out --- but I doubt it.

I was thinking of emailing them about something once but when I looked I couldn't find any email addresses anywhere on their website.
