Source for 12 gauge brass shells?

Midway USA will not ship any of their products to Canada....

However, Buffalo Arms will ship brass shotshells (not rifle/pistol brass) to Canada...That's where I buy my 12ga brass for Cowboy shooting...Prices are excellent and it's first rate Magtech brass....Use's a large pistol primer and are only made in 2 1/2"....

Never heard of anything but 2 1/2" but that doesn't mean that there aren't any.

That said they hold as much or more than plastic 2 3/4" shells. They are so thin that you are best to get 11ga wads for a better fit.

ht tp://bilozir.net/ usually as Magtech brass and would be a good person to ask about longer brass or anything else to do with shotgunning.

re

I didn't know they hold as much as a 2 3/4". That's all I need, for sure. I am of the opinion that anything more than 2 3/4 is unnecessary anyway.

I am having difficulty finding online load charts for black powder 2 1/2" shells as well. If anybody has some load data I could use, I would appreciate it very much.

Easy to load....60-70 gr of BP (or substitute) loaded by volume....11ga fiber wad over the powder....Add shot (sometimes I use a shot cup)....Then use a an 11ga over -the-shot-card....Run a bead of white glue around the inside....

Have fun...:dancingbanana:

Many people go with roughly equal volumes of powder and shot. 70-90gr of 3F (or 2F) and 1 1/4oz or so shot. You can buy or make wads with a 3/4 punch from felt, ten-test or fibre ceiling tiles.

Search back in the Antiques forum for more threads on brass shells.

Keep in mind that a 2 3/4" shotshell is only that length in the open or uncrimped position. Once its crimped its 2 1/2". The brass shells are not crimped but use an over shot wad and a sealer. You may want to do a bit of research on reloading brass shells as its not the same as modern plastic hulls.

re

I never considered that dabear, but you're absolutely right. There's no reason at all I couldn't load the 2 1/2" with the same sized loads. I'm going to have some fun!
