Source for 338 Lapua hunting ammo?

Hey folks, kicking around the idea of maybe taking the 338 out a couple times hunting this year to help it build some character!

All I can really find is match ammo, mostly loaded with boat tail hollow points. Now I would be hunting moose, so I figured an accubond or partition would be a good start.

Anybody know where to find factory stuff in Canada?

That match ammo will penetrate 12" + into gravel.

It'll make it through a moose.

I figured it would make it through a moose, but I'm more concerned with FMJ like performance and only making a 338 calibre hole in it.

Now the match ammo is hollow point, so I could be completely wrong. Never hunted with match ammo before.

If anyone has experience using match BTHP in hunting situations, please share your thoughts.

I should note that I'm trying to ensure that the kill is quick and humane. Bullet selection can play a large roll in this and is why I'm asking for advice.

However, there is an Accubond that has high weight and high BC which could possibly double as a hunting round with target accuracy, sry, forgot you wanted loaded ammo.

Thats the round I'm looking for, but it seems to be pretty rare to come across, in Canada at least.

Did you try Peter? Lapua makes one hunting bullet load for the 338 Lapua, he should be able to get it for you. Other than that reloading seems to be your only option.
