I was just wondering if anyone knew of any place that had quality 5/10 M14 magazines in stock...

Easier to insert and remove than 5-rounders, more streamlined on the rifle for beating brush than 20-rounders. Either 5s or 5/20s will work fine, I just thought I'd check around first and see.

Ordered a 10 rounds from Irunguns. A bit pricey but well worth it fkr ease of use.

Alternatively, thin climbing rope looped in the drainage hole work very well too.

anything a 5/10 can do, the 20 can do better- and more meat to hold on to- I don't care about lower profile- if you're conscious of that, get a flush 5 rounder or a GARAND

For what he needs, the 5/10 is the best of both worlds. A bit bigger to grab, but small enough to no catch on bush.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of Irunguns. Did they do the pinning in-house or was it pinned by the manufacturer?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I wound up going with a homemade extender for a couple of my 5-rounders. Basically, I trimmed a 2" chunk of wood to shape and screwed it to the baseplate (had to drill a second hole) with a couple of washers for spacers, then wrapped grip tape around it. I might make up a couple more and if so I'll post some pics of the process (not that it's complicated).

I think he just wants something to grab onto when it's time to remove his shorty mag instead of having to beg and threaten it.
I guess he doesn't want to have the extra length of the 'std' 20/5 mag. That's what I think.
Has any Nutter got his mags to 'drop free' successfully?

Uhhh, 'cause we've never seen what he wants for sale.

I believe canstar used to make them as well.
Brownells lists the springfield ones as well

You've been into m14's long enough that I'm shocked you haven't at least heard of these before Machman.

To the OP, I know midland or brownells is unlikely to send them, or pin them. But It may be worth contacting Northern Republic Magazines to bring some in or potentially IRUNGUNS. I know I'd be tempted to buy one or two.

10 rnd mags are NA at present.

I know I am "sellin him something other than he wants", but have you looked into the NR magazine AIA enfield mags? They are 10/10 and just so happen to work in a M14.

I think the 'tens' NR are offering are to be 10/20s, not 10/10s, and they've been on 'backorder' since they were posted back in May/June.
The latest word is that they are 'still coming...in 2014'.
So Machie is correct--no 5/10s are available in Canada at the present time. Or 10/20s :0 |
