Thanks guys. I'd like to get one shipped to me, preferably from a canadian dealer. Where could I find a # for lock, stock and barrel?
Also, is putting one of these in a do-it-yourself kind of deal or should I take it to a smith?
The timney requires a bit of filing on the top- to match to the safety on your rifle. It depends on your mechanical skills and if you're doing it for the first time it's a slow process - file and check, file and check - but I didn't find it all that difficult - and I flunked sandbox as a kid. I can't speak to the other brands
Get a Timney, part # 601 from western gun parts they are about $125.00. Best thing I ever did to my M77. I was there the other day for some other stuff and they have the triggers in stock. If you do the install you may have to remove a little wood from inside the stock to allow for the wire linkage that's for the safety (a dremel tool makes this job easy)
I kind of like the looks and sound of the rifle basix. According to their web site, they were made for the home smith and come with an instructional video detailing how to do the job yourself. I've heard alot of good about Basix and Timney. Thanks guys. Rob.
