I am looking for some shotshells with sabot slugs to use in a Savage 220F. Looking on forums in the US it seems best to use 3" shotshells, Federal Premium seems to do well in the gun.

Here in Canada I only seem to be able to find 2 3/4" and not much of a selection of those.

Any ideas for a good online source here?

Thank you.

How do the 2 3/4" shells group on your gun?
I hunted with a guy last year who shoots that same rifle (notice I did not call it a shotgun :) ), he said that remington accutip slugs in 2 3/4" were his most accurate, he said that the extra speed actually hurt his accuracy. He has a tack driver, 200 yards no problem for deer and he could probably hit them further but slugs lose energy fast.

I tried the Federals and Accutips both in 3" as recommended by Savage. The Accutips grouped fantastic and much better than the Federals for me. 2.75" slugs have nearly the same ballistics as 3" in sabot ammo so don't be afraid to give them a try. The gun is designed for 3" so feeding issues from the mag could be an issue and I would expect 3" to be more accurate due to the slugs more forward position in the chamber. Super accurate slugger once you find the ammo she likes. I've had no problems finding ammo. Canadian Tire, TSC, any gun friendly sporting store...
