Source of 455 Mark 1 ammunition?

Reloading is about his only option.

Might locate some old Dominion .455 Colt (which is essentially a North American commercial version) at gun shows or the like, but it will be pricey. Reloadable, however .....

My .455 MkI brass is pretty much old Dominion cases - they aren't rally a solid-head case, but seem to last reasonably well if the loads are kept reasonably mild. The other source for MkI-length brass is cases made from .45 Colt cases - which involves thinning the rim (though that has to be done from the front) and trimming to length. Such cases work fine, but the rim diameter is smaller. of course, so rim engagement by the extractor star can occasionally be a bit problematic .....

If he isn't planning to shoot black powder, Mk II cases will work fine .....
