As the title says who sells Savage/Stevens barrels in Canada.

It is unfortunate that Midway and similar places cannot sell us barrels in Canada.

I just called Savage Arms Canada today no luck, buddy :( they don't sell them so only personal sales

I was gonna buy Stevens 200 in .243 and swap the barrel for 12fv/10fp but none available from Savage

Shillen sells barrels to Canada. You can get a good price through a guy on the Savage shooters forum. Sorry, forgot his name, but he's a sponsor of the site. Edit: It's Northland shooting supplies.

Jim Briggs aka Northland cannot ship barrels or actions to Canada. Nothing over 100 anymore either, that includes stocks.

Do a search, lots of ways to get a barrel in Canada.

He doesn't ship them. He orders the barrels from, I think its Shillen, then they do the paperwork for around $20 and ship them to you. These are not Savage take off barrels, but custom made barrels direct from the manufacturor.

Blue Mountain Sports in New Brunswick sells the Lothar Walther barrels and they have pre-threaded and prechambered barrels available in several calibers for the Savage bolt rifles. Blue Mountain Sports is a member on this site.

G, I do recommend Jim and was happy to do business with him in the past but recently we spoke and he couldn't send stocks or actions to Canada. Since I chamber my own Gaillard blanks we didn't talk about barrels.

Direct fix and ready to go.

Or you can look at www.riflebarrels.ca and order a Krieger in whatever caliber, twist and contour you like. Have your local smith chamber, thread and crown it for you and Voila....your done :D

Or if you prefer McPhee or Krieger

Does blue mountain sports have a website? Tried to google them no luck.
Or a phone # thanks

Does anyone have an idea how much they sell their savage pre threaded barrels for?

Why can't you buy barrels from the states? Is it illegal?

I've bought and sold used barrels to the U.S. for years and have never had one turned back at customs. If the big companies won't sell to you join Savage shooters.com, there are tons of barrels for sale on there all the time and I'm sure a few of them guys will ship to Canada if the extra shipping is paid.

Just a thought but if it's illegal to do this let me know so I can stop to.-

It is illegal for people in the US to send barrels/actions and many other gun parts to Canada without permits. We can send to them no problem.

Actions I can see being a need for paperwork but a barrel is just a part, like a sight or a firing pin or anything like that.

I'm pretty sure we can't send actions to them either.

Barrels cannot be shipped anymore to Canada unless the US Export paperwork is done first, it's the same for a rifle scope. You might get away with it once or twice, but once it's caught, the shipper is in hot water and the item confiscated. Midway was fined 250,000$ for shipping scopes to Canada, and because of it they won't ship anything to Canada.

Ouch, that sucks. No wonder they won't ship to Canada.

It's those friggan new 911 laws thats causing all this bull####.

I'm sure a terrorist is gonna be looking for a Bushnell 1.5-4X scope for his rifle and who is the U.S. to say all the terrorists are residing in Canada anyways? I'd better shut up before this turns political.

What's Blue Mountain Sports handle on this site?

I was thinking about giving them a call. Wanting a stainless Lothar-Walther barrel for my C3ish clone build.
