I'm looking at buying a surplus M2 or M3 .50BMG barrel for a future potential build, but can't find one for any kind of a reasonable price... any milsurp gurus know of a place where I can get something (in ANY condition) for a reasonable price? I don't need MG parts kits or receiver flats, I just need a barrel to make a single-shot bolt gun sometime in the next... well, I hope to have it completed sometime before I kick the bucket (you guys know how projects can be)!
Also, when barrels are "flame cut in 3 places" is that usually just 3 parts of the chamber, or is it at 3 locations down the barrel? I've seen a few "3 cut" demilled barrels on the cheap, but if I can't get at least 20" of good length out of the thing what's the point right?
