Sourcing a 6-48nf tap and screws

I'm trying to install a bead sight on my 1897 shotgun, I have the hole drilled now I can't seem to find a tap anyware, my plan was to contour a screw into a beed but all I can find is 6-32nc

But it's too bad your already drilled the hole. Most beads I have installed are smaller than #6 and you can buy bead kits from WGP which includes the drill, tap and bead.

Double Gun is right, most common beads are 3-56 tpi.

I just finished mounting a bead on my 1897 myself. If you get the tap from Brownells you might as well get the bead too. It's a nich oversized brass bead which is exactly what I wanted for cowboy

For me as well. A set of 2 or 3 beads, drill bit and tap for $9 us

PM Hobbycraft out of Calgary usually has smaller size taps and dies for the model and RC crowds.
Your local hobby store might have a similar selection.
