Hey, i have an 1911 i wish to get an unfitted BarSto bull barrel for.
Where can these be found in Canada?
Anyone had any experience with a US shop to export them?
Thanks

To my knowledge Bar Sto is no longer a registered exporter, their web site states that they do not ship out of the US, which would seem to back that up. In short, you can't get that here, legally. Kart barrels are available through Brownells, or if stainless is a must, Storm Lake produces 'hard fit' barrels and bushings.

There's a lot of hype over Bar Sto products, so much so that they've achieved near mythical status, I'm not sure that they're any better than any other premium barrel maker. The last time they were available in Canada, the wait time was 18 months to 2 years - which is, quite frankly, stupid. As I noted, Kart (who have a terrific reputation with Bullseye shooters) are available, if I was in the market for a premium 1911 barrel, that's who I'd go with.

After some research i have noticed that SVI/STI use Schumann barrels for the AET models, i am now looking to source a Schumann if possible

I'm a Schuemann barrel fan too - let us know if you have any success getting one. He's been at manufacturing capacity for years..... Speedshooters carries them but they're perpetually out of stock.

Yeah i see that, it seems when someone puts me on to something cool its always hard to find.
Since my 1911 will be given to my smith in december, ill try to source one until october.
Then my fallback plan will be a CDN purchased StI bull barrel if all else fails.

Yeah I figured it should be more than good, when doing a match gun build I like to try to find and have installed the most renowned parts.
Kind of like having a 6000$ SVI with a 2800$ budget. I know its not quite the same but pretty damn close, exept for the excentric frame/slide cuts/engravings.
