Wow, I see some No4 Enfields are still in service as parade rifles, this is a recent picture as it has the new South African flag on the uniform. Interesting the No. 9 bayonet is not the unique SA one but the one issued by the UK. The Army has just done Battle in the Congo.
I am surprised still to see Enfield's in such good condition, as before I left in 1995, the SA Army had already surplussed a whole lot, current officers could get a new one for next to nothing and I bought a used No4 from a store
