Markings are also on opposite side of disk. Crown on muzzle also marked?? And information greatly appreciated.

A G Parker had a proprietary bore polishing process which essentially involved pushing ball bearings of the correct size through the barrel to burnish the lands. The muzzle as also been flat crowned. I expect the rifle was used for competitive shooting.

Sorry, got the configuration wrong. That is the de Wet Regiment, an Orange Free State unit of 1934, based in Kroonstad. It was mobilized in June 1940, with its members being transferred to the President Steyn Regiment of Bloemfontein.
