A co-worker the other day said he saw 3 wolves on his property (Oxford county). I say B. S. My question is, has anyone pushing coyotes in WMU's 85 to 94 ever have a wolf come out of the bush instead. If they're here I have yet to see.

I shot a wolf in Woodstock last year around this time, unmistakably a wolf, black and big! It had been seen by the farmer on a few occasions, he drew the line when it took down one of his horses.
Didn't look anything like a coyote.

Took down one of his horses? One wolf? A little elaboration on this if possible...otherwise I think some BS detectors will sound off.

I am OK with BS's detectors.
I hunt predators for a living, seen some crazy stuff, the wolf wasn't much of a surprise to me.
Last year I shot 78 coyotes, this wolf was at least 3X bigger than the largest of coyotes I seen. It had been seen on the farm a few times.
It wasn't a 2000lb Clydesdale, but it was no foal either. Definitely dead.

Dutch, nice yote. He also said there are coyote tracks around his chicken coup but no wolf tracks. Seems to me that if wolves were there they would also be sniffing around the barn looking for an easy meal.

I've seen 2 that were for sure wolves. Not a timber wolf like I see up north but deffinately not a coyote. Much larger longer legs bigger broader head. Different movements and the tracks were 3x the size. I found 4 deer pulled down by him in 1 deer season but never had a good shot with the bow

haven't seen a wolf but I have seen a number of coy-dog hybrids down here (chatham-kent) have some trail cam pics of one feeding on a dead cow a few years back, if I can round it up i'll post it later.. Possibility if they are seeing something noticeable larger than a coyote, it could be a hybrid.

i was out in WMU 89 on friday and came across a single set of fresh tracks amongst the tons of deer and odd yote tracks. my palm is 4 1/4" wide and this track was about 1/4" wider than that. it's the biggest canine track i have seen around here.

big dog or a wolf?

hopefully i'll found out after christmas when i switch to predator hunting mode;)

Pictures?

Here is one I took last Feb. I know it is not a wolf but am unsure if it had something else mixed in with the coyote. It weighed 46 pounds. I have taken quite a few since then and average weight was around 30 lbs.
