Hey all I need a little help I'm planning a part of my bachelor/wedding party to include a bird hunt for the guys. I'm looking for a place where the birds will flush and fly. We don't have bird dogs but my basset will track anything I put him on.
Pheasant quail and pigeons are on the menu.
Any good places?

Exeter game farm just west of the town of Exeter on huron st. Great place and owner has many dogs he well let you use for free. Also has the best prices on birds I think he has a web site also.

I will second Gold Creek Farms in Komoka/Strathroy.

I hunted there in the past and in my opinion I would not recommend it if you want flight conditioned birds. The hunt I was on my dog caught the first 13 birds before or as they flushed. Those that did flush were very weak flyers IMO. They were not fed proper mixes of ground grains that domestic birds need for building good muscle. They didn't even taste all that great. My dog was used to the flight stong birds that used to be raised and released on the Cochrane Hunt and Game Farm before my buddy decided to shut down and pursue other business interests. I came to realise as I travelled around to other farms that there just wasn't anyone willing to spend the $$ to raise good hearty flight conditioned birds. Oscar's birds were well fed, good size, nicely feathered, STRONG and TASTY and nobody else in Ontario at that time sold as many birds for hunting as he did. I can see why. People came from all over to hunt them. Too bad he closed up. I wouldn't know who to recommend to be honest but I have hunted at the one above and I was unimpressed enough that I never returned.
