Are all brownings right handed then? Would that mean they all have cast built into the stock (apologies if my terminology isn't quite right), or is there something else about it that would make them unfriendly to a lefty?
The Citori/Cynergy are neutral cast, but many have palm swells that determine right or left hand.
I understand but someone must remember that 500-600 per year, year after year, time will get rid on cheaper shotgun. Browning, Beretta or some equivalent for example will get through it with all the bells and whistles. I remember when I was 16 years old I was broke as hell but I got my money hard working at farms and I bought a 12 gauge Browning BSS. I never looked back and it never let me down.

On an O/U the only thing that determines cast is the buttstock. LH stocks do exist for most popular guns although they can be hard to find. I don't think any cheaper Turkish guns are offered in LH. I think most are neutral cast. You might try one and see how it works for you. I'm not advocating Turkish shotguns but that's the only way you'll get a LH or neutral cast O/U in your price range unless you run across a real deal.
I am not a lefty but prefer a neutral cast gun. I have and had several SKBs and they were all neutral. They are getting harder to find but there is the odd one. My favorite one is factory IMP CYL and MOD but the most common were MOD FULL. Depending on what you want to do that may not be ideal.
Any of the lower grade FAIRs I have tried have been neutral as they were made for a one size fits all USA market. The rebranded Savage Milano fits me like a glove.

If one can't find the chokes they want, too choked beats not choked enough as chokes can be opened up for a relatively small price - $75 a barrel at Rusty Wood.
I’ve only seen it online of course, but I’m rather taken with the new Citori Composite. I’m assuming it has a neutral cast that can be adjusted for right or left hand, but haven’t seen anything to confirm that yet. In general I’m a walnut guy, but that synthetic stock looks really nice to me.
Edgy, thanks for the info on the CZ Drake. A bit lower end than I was thinking of getting, but I do like CZ rifles.
