Soviet Mosin Refurb facility marks identified....

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up here already. It seems a gentleman in Russia has put in a lot of time/effort and found out what some of the previously 'just another identified refurb mark' mean..



This has blown away some of the 'theories' that were out there - especially the DDR connection...

Oh awesome! This should relate over to the SKS and SVT40 lines as well.

The first two are routinely seen as SKS refurb marks.

I never believed that the Triangle 1 was a DDR marking, and this unsourced, undated information is all the proof I need.

I saw the rectangle in my friend's mosin and rectangle with "\" inside, so i thought his Mosin have killed 4 Nazi and mine Have killed 5

Just another tidbit of info to add to this. If you see a "P" under a serial number on a Mosin it indicates it was factory repaired. Repair in Russian is "ремонт".

I thought the box with a line through it indicated a factory repair, usually found on the stock?
