Got my SP-01 Tactical on Wednesday from Gunnar. After tons and tons of research and reading, and studying the parts diagram I finally got up the courage and took the gun apart, detail stripped the hammer, sear, and decocker assembly, didn't bother with the trigger. Used my Lansky knife sharpening stones to polish up all the contact surfaces, for those hard to reach part I used 600 grit sand paper, followed by 1500 grit paper. I had 2 boing~~~! incidents, good thing the springs didn't land very far away, and I was able to easily find them. I follow the steps which I found on the CZshooters forum and it worked! Taking it apart wasn't very hard at all, it's the putting it back together part that's a pain in the you know where. After stoning all the contact surfaces and reassembled the gun, the griddiness was completely gone. The trigger is now a lot smoother.

So then I brought 3 boxes of ammo and to the range I go! The gun really do have an excellent balance. Remember reading somewhere where a guy said something like it practically points itself. I get the same feeling, too. There is a lot of muzzle weight. The gun hardly jumps. I'm going to use it for my backup standard gun. The accuracy was superb. Although the sights need to be adjusted, the gun shot left, but was very consistent. First time shooting the gun and the best 5 shot group I got was 2 inch group @ 20 yards, not too shabby. Then did a little plinking with the home made swinging metal targets. Goes plink everytime I take the time to aim. The gun is easy to shoot, and easy to shoot accurately, very little felt recoil. Very accurate. Love it.

The rubber grips are very comfortable, grip size is very averaged, way smaller compared to my CZ Tactical Sport.

The gun had one fail to eject incident. It was the last round in the mag. And the brass just stovepiled.

Also had this problem with this guy's(met at the range) handloads. The bullet was seated too far out and it got stuck on the rifling. And for some reason, the ammo was short, so when the hammer strikes the firing pin the firing pin didn't even hit the primer on it... probably there's some issue with the ammo and not the gun. All factory ammo, Winchester and Remington shot good 100%

I owned and shot a G17 and a Baby Eagle before, neither was as pleasant as the SP-01. G17 has by far the most felt recoil, Baby Eagle was a large step up, but the recoil is still significantly more than the SP-01.

Things I would like changed. FO sights(got Gunnar working on these already). Shorter DA trigger pull, Matt from CZ-USA had said something about shortening the disconnector and reshaping the hammer... I haven't the guts to try it yet. Without any spare parts, if I do something wrong, I'd be screwed. LESS curvature on the trigger!!!! I hate the dramatic curvature on the trigger, stupid thing... Good thing only the first shot is DA, and with the decocker, the first shot would be only 1.5A:D, which I see as a significant advantage over the manual safety version. Would also like a tungsten or at least metal guide rod, like on the baby eagle. Unfortunately, if I want to use it in Production I can't add such guide rod... pity... but the gun is heavy enough at the muzzle so I guess it wouldn't help that much.
