I've shot a regular CZ-75 a couple of times and wasn't terribly impressed. The gun seemed to have too much muzzle climb for an all-steel, full-size gun chambered in a europellet caliber. I also didn't like the sights. Does the extra weight of the railed frame make the SP-01 a more stable pistol? Are the sights different? Is the trigger smoother/lighter?

Also, according to the CZ-USA website, "The CZ 75 SP-01 is the first full size handgun (4.72' bbl) from CZ to feature the improved manufacturing technology and ergonomics of the NATO approved CZ 75 Compact P-01 model". Does this mean that the SP-01 has better fit and finish thna the old school CZ-75 or it it just marketing BS?

I have both, and the SP-01 definately has less 'flip' than the 75.
The night sights on the -01 are easier to pick up, but I don't think there's much difference in the trigger, subjectively. I also don't think that there is an appreciable difference is quality...only time and a bunch of rounds downrange will tell. The 75 has functioned flawlessly for many 1000's of rounds.
Overall, I think I am coming to prefer the newer model, but since the 75 was my first pistol, and wouldn't garner much cash used, I'll likely keep both.
If push came to shove, I would recommend the SP-01.
