Picking up a SP01 shadow and maybe this fall attending black badge course and was wondering what will feed and be more accurate in this gun 124 FMJ IPSC pf134 or 147gr CMJ with IPSC pf 137. I`m gonna buy a case or two from BDX and don`t wanna be have any problems. All input from CZ SP01 owners will be appreciated.

My SP-01 has eaten everything I have fed it. 115, 124, 147 grain factory new, reloads and re-manufactured ammo. Never had an issue, went bang every time. Note that all were jacketed rounds.

My SP01 preferred 147 gr. bullets for accuracy while my CZ 85 C will shoot anything from 115 -147 gr. extremely well. Go figure.

However, the SP01 ran with any load I gave it 100%.

I'd say it is a case of not what will the pistol run, but what you will prefer shooting. I'd buy a bit of both, and run the ammo side by side before settling on which to shoot. I'd also highly recommend getting into handloading to ensure a timely supply of ammo.

I have both a CZ-85 and a Shadow SP-01

Both will feed and shoot 115's, 124's and 147's without a problem. Both factory (Remington UMC) and BDX 147's work just fine. The 147's shoot about an inch high @ 20 yards (versus the 115's) with the Shadow's fixed sights. I have not noticed the 147's vs 124's as being more or less accurate but the felt recoil is a little softer.

I have read some posts on www.brianenos.com about some 147's being long enough to engage the rifling in the barrels of some Shadow's but have not experienced this.

I've shot a bunch of Winchester 147gr through my SP01 with good results--it's the most accurate 9mm I've shot. It shoots maybe 2" low at 50m, more or less right on at closer ranges.

Just make sure to test the ammunition you want to use.

The CZ's are finicky on long rounds. 115 and 124 round nose should not be an issue.

I had problems with some 147s that were loaded to 1.159-1.142 C.O.L. and they FTF and jammed pretty hard.

That being said, I shoot 147 gr CMJ Frontiers in my CZ. Find it less snappy, more of a push. I just load them myself now.

well,...I am wondering if the faster moving 124gr would be more accurate? I use all 147gr in Tanfoglio and like it alot. THe shadow I used to run shot either,..
If wonder if the 124gr would be less likely to nose dive with than a mag full of 147gr?

All I have shot thru these two pistols are Canadian BDX ammo. The 14lb recoil spring will function well with factory or the 137pf BDX ammo. If you go to a lighter pf ammo,...you will probably opt for a lighter recoil spring. Put a lower main spring into it that still has reliable primer strikes.
