Spanish Mauser cleaning rod

I have a Spanish Mauser 1895 cavalry carbine. I'm trying to restore it and the only thing I can't find for it is a cleaning rod.

The other day I realized that I have never seen one with a cleaning rod and if it did have one it would stick out past the muzzle. I'm starting to think that they were never issued with one?

Does any one know?

The M1895 was the one stocked right to the muzzle and IIRC they did not have a rod.
