Spanish War Era Wallet?

So my family as plenty of history in the military, albeit the wrong side of things..... Had my folks over for lunch and when they left, Pops gave me this. I know his father was in the Big Show, got rocketed off the rails in '44 never being quite right again and he was Luftwaffe but lots of my other relations where Wehrmacht. He will not speak about it but I remember seeing the P38 when I was a kid and he was having it registered, so I know he's sitting on stuff, just wish I could get him to talk a bit...... The Old School Way I suppose...

One time owner of that wallet appears to have been in Spain with the Condor Legion in '36, '37 & '38. Lower front embossing I can't decipher.

So, he would have been a German, fighting for the Fascists, I would think ?

The closest you can get to Fascists in SCW are Communists and Falangists, representatives of left and right. However it's all irrelevant. We are all very smart about past choices, but no so much for current and future ones.
