Just a heads up, purchased a Sparc for Christmas present.Screwed on low mount and mounted on rifle, sights wobbling all over goddamn place!!?? Seems holes tapped in bottom of sight are not quite deep enough in my particular example.Back to store i go.Suggest you try affixing mount to sight before leaving store. Will save agro and fuel.
Sight seems good so far, nice bright dots. Green might be good in snow if we ever get any, bikini covers bite and magnifier is like looking through a keyhole but i guess i got what i paid for......can,t help but think guys would probably stop #####ing about magnifier if Vortex stuck some decent caps on this thing.Maybe not.

Do you mean that the sight itself won't screw tightly to the mount, because the screws bottom out? If so, just dress the screws down slightly.

As I recall, the screws go into the base of the sight, which is aluminum. Be careful to not over torque and strip the threads.

I love my SPARC. The magnifier sucks, but I only use it for bench shooting load development. It is adequate for that.

Well your right that would be the obvious fix. But i don,t think i or any other consumer should have to shorten and dress the threads on these tiny buggers. So determining a "fault" before you leave the retailer seems the way to go.IMHO

I agree, and I apologize if my reply sounded like it was meant to offend...it wasn't. A lot of new and not-so-new shooters don't realize how common it is for scope base screws to require mild shortening to avoid bottoming out in receivers and/or binding up the bolts in their rifles. Couldn't tell from your post if that was your concern. I agree with you...problems like this shouldn't happen when simply trying to assembly two pieces from the same box!:)

Thanks for you reply,no offence taken.I was just sharing my experience. That and i,m an old bugger whose expectations for quality and service are a little out of line these days. Cheers from the wet coast.

Im fairly certain the mount comes with 2 or 3 different sizes of screws. In my experience vortex offers well thought out products (sometimes not of the highest material quality) but having the wrong length screws does not seem like an oversight they would make. I KNOW my sparc had at least 2 different length screws to accommodate the multiple mounting heights, I would suggest taking another look through the box, or else returning it to the retailer as the proper length screws were probably scavenged for another "preferred" customer.
