I was looking in my gunsmithing tool kit last night and it occurred to me that I used to try to buy a basic set of spare parts for all the .22 LRs I've owned, these would include a spare firing pin and an assortment of the smaller screws and springs that might get lost or wear out. I got into the habit thanks to the first .22 I had use of, a very old and abused one which was missing a lot of those things and had had less than ideal substitutes put in, including a handmade firing pin.
This got me to wondering what specific parts of an AR are likely to require replacement through wear or loss and, to make things easy, if there are any basic spare parts kits on the market in Canada. Suggestions please.
