Anyone know if these are either
a) Illegal to export from the US, or
b) Illegal to import into Canada?

I see that they don't ship to Canada, but is there anything wrong with bringing a "dummy switch" across the border yourself?

I have no idea, but like many gun parts... they might not be illegal to import into canada or to possess in canada.
But the export from the USA might be ITAR, you would need an export permit, and the manufacturer would have to be registered.

best bet is dont try to walk it across the border unless you know for sure.

Sparrowhawk just does not deliver to Canada, plain and simpleth its his decision and he chooses not too, he used to but not now. However you can still get the kits from brownells they just dont have the connector rod. and there is no need for special import permits ect.

Brownelles sells the Fulton armouries dummy switch.

Under $100 ITAR so no paperwork and they'll ship to your door!

Seems pricey for just the switch... I definitely like the genuine look of the sparrowhawk better. Since the sparrowhawk is also under $100, wouldn't it follow under the same rules? I have some American friends who would ship to me, provided that it's legal to do so, of course!

To bad a supplier up here doesn't start bringing them they are an awesome kit

Sparrowhawk does not sell or ship outside the US. A Canadian supplier might not be able to help given the guys decision not to deal beyond the US?

What would be the legal implications if I tried shipping one from my US address to Canadian? As far as I know these things shouldn't be on the ITAR list, but I wouldn't want to risk bringing anything gun related onto a plane.

If you were to bring it across the border yourself, I could imagine it going alot easier. But if you're just mailing it, better to err on the side of caution and go with the Fulton one at Brownells.

I don't get it. It's not really a gun part. It's fake, like airsoft. For cosmetic purposes only.
So why would it even fall under ITAR?

It's not like these can actually be used to convert one to FA, is it?

In the Sparrowhawk kits case, they are demilled usgi parts. I had such a kit years ago.
