I can't comment about ejection being an issue but I handled one at the SHOT Show last year and it was very solid with no wiggle or flex. In fact I'm p*ssed that it has taken over a year and they're still not here yet because I'm definitely putting one on one of my Minis.
I have never liked the Tapco stock for the mini14, nor the Choate or the Ramline, etc. They never looked right to me. They seemed disjointed (and cheap and plasticy).
This stock, to me anyway, seems more unified and solid. I like the appearance. I have one on order with Hical and will let you know if it feels cheap and plasticy and whether or not the top rail is a problem. I have a feeling it's going to be fun trying it out.

Please do. I would love to see a review. It just looks tapcoish to me...
Don't get me wrong here I'm not putting down hi cal. Dave is a great guy.

I think a lot of people hate the ACR, but plagiarism is sure proving to be the purest form of flattery.
Didn't think you were putting anyone down. Just stating your opinion. Who knows, you might be bang on. (Hope not) If it is anything like the Marauder stock I will be quite happy. That is a solid kit- not cheap or plasticy at all.
