The SPAS-15 is prohibited. Same order as the SPAS-12. I don't know if any SPAS-15s were even imported by the time of the ban. There were lots of SPAS-12's though.
My uncle had a SPAS-12 in 1990 or so. It was my first semi-auto shotgun experience. We had an excellent time blasting jugs and cans and the occasional pumpkin with Imperial high brass bird shot. High brass shot was the only thing that cycled properly in semi-auto mode. It was heavier than hell and awkward to shoulder. My uncle's had the famous hook at the end of the stock.
When they were declared prohibited by Kim Campbell the cops used the dealer records to coerce the dealers to tell them who they sold them to. Since there was no "long gun registry" at the time and dealer records was the only method of tracking long gun sales. Sort of the same thing that the CFO's want to happen now, to use dealer records to facilitate mass confiscation since they don't have their precious registry. Barrett "Light 50"s, Calico .22's, Benelli M1 Tactical models, McMillan .50's are among other commonly owned long guns that were seized in this manner. My buddy's Skorpion, Tec-9 and Universal Enforcer were easily tracked and seized because they were registered as handguns. The owners simply got a letter from the RCMP stating "we know what you have. Turn it in or else". To think, Anne McLellan promised us that registration would never lead to confiscation. History must NEVER repeat itself. NEVER. We must unite as a group and ensure this never happens again.
