My new Larue 9.0 arrived today. Special thanks to Suchee on a great deal and superb service. This is a fantastic piece of kit and the quality can not be described in words.

See here for some more pictures, and see here to purchase my old rail system.

The New Larue:

Great Ad, as a member of the Island Burned Club (IBC) you are entitled to a free Island Built Sucks (IBS) morale name tape. You also forgot to mention that the tube failed every and all concentricity tests known to machining. Glad you got sorted out with the rail, LaRue is good kit, even if it is not a Reed product.:D

Nice lookin' carbine! I'm gunning for a 7.0 to mount on my LE6920. :)

I've got the 7.0 Larue on my LMT upper.

It is a VERY nice and well made rail.

Contrary to what some former colonials say, Larue is every bit as good as something from "Reed", or better.;) :D

SKBY.

Glad you guys found humor in my post. I was asking that because I don't know if Dlask makes good gear or not. I don't have a black gun yet to buy such accessories for.

I won't be buying 'those' products when I can get one from Mark cheaper, and better.

unless I can have a URX :D

very nice rail...does it weigh allot?

I'm not sure exactly what it weighs, but it's lighter than the Dlask rail it replaced. It's also narrower - the Dlask rail had a larger overall diameter, so by the time you got rail covers on it felt very 'fat'. Not so with the Larue.

How would you guys rate Knight's Armament gear. How do their RIS, RAS and FF systems compare to others on the market (LaRue, Daniel Defence, Samson, MI)?

KAC is expensive, and did have a strong running in the market which is not so evident now. For non free float, the SureFire M73 is in my opinion, the heat. Freefloat, theres more options available. LaRue is my personal favourite for traditional FF, DD is good too. VLTOR's VIS is going to be some competition for the URX.

LaRue does it lighter, and sometimes cheaper, for as good as or better quality. I'm sure a KAC rep will be along shortly. :)

Always try before you buy!

I have three KAC Rail systems installed currently. One RIS and two RAS rails. I bought all of them on the forum here, and all for less than $350. They are well built and I like them. They are also resonably priced used. I have not used a FF RAS.

I have had a Surefire which I sold on the board here. It was really quite nice. They models listed above all work well considering they are not freefloated and just replace handguards with no rifle modification or disassembly required.

Pavehammer has a Troy rail which is a nice piece of kit. It freefloats and the attachment system is easy to use. I like it! Pavehammer has some LaRue kit as well. They build really nice stuff, so I am sure the rail is excellent as well.
