I am very much into the impending zombie apocalypse that is coming. I am well prepared in that sense with lumber water, ammo, books etc.

What I don't get is Hornady's zombie ammo which is almost double the normal stuff. I mean we love zombies, but that is just exploitation.

45 ACP / 25pk / $22? For a label? They must think we're dumb.

your paying for the box as a souvenir, its a great marketing ploy and if you think they are not selling your wrong!

the ammo is green tipped a-max or v-max projectiles so it is a premium bullet, price is high yes but all in good fun...

I just ordered .223 Z-max projectiles to make my own for our up and coming Zombie three gun match, just cuz I can and its fun... Its also alot cheaper making your own, the projectiles were very resonable....

ACTUALLY, the hornandy zombie rifle rounds are vmax rounds with a different color tip.. Go price out factory vmax ammo....

Additionally, the zombie handgun rounds are critical defense rounds with a different color tip.. Again, go price out some critical defense ammo...

You will find that the zombie ammo is sold cheaper than its zmax/critical defense counterpart. The stuff people have happily been paying $25+ /box for years.

What is a "Zombie three gun match"?

I was not aware of the differences in the projectile. That makes the price not such a bad thing. But really, what is the usefulness of that type of round given out current zombie-less situation? And please don't say "just in case" :)

Hornady V-Max ammo (or Z-Max) is very accurate, and the .223 stuff kills coyotes real nice.

The pistol ammo is not for punching paper. It's for expanding quickly and hitting very hard on meat-based targets.

This thread comes up a couple times a week. It has been beaten to death d:h:
I'm sure its good ammo, and sure the box is cool looking. It is premium ammo at a premium price. Like I've said before, I will continue to reload my own bullets and if need be, I will mark a couple Boxes "Zombie Ammo" for when the Undead come knockin' at my door.

Ahahahaha do it! Make sure you post pix of the boxes on CGN.

I gotta say, I never tire of the zombie threads!

Bu...Bu...But it has zombies on the box! And Green tips! :p

All said, for my zombie needs I prefer FMJ or trace in a semi auto firearm that has a high capacity of ammunition. ;)

If:
I am very much into the impending zombie apocalypse that is coming.
And:
I am well prepared in that sense with lumber water, ammo, books etc.

Then:
They must think we're dumb

The minute the marketing guys realized this zombie thing was a huge meme at best and just a little beyond a tongue-in-cheek joke at worst, they knew they could charge nearly anything they wanted.
