What would be good for fall hunting on the West Coast, mainland and Vancouver Island? The weather is all over the place. Any suggestions for something waterproof and lightweight/warm but good for winter? I'm new to hunting :)

The key is layers. You need a good base layer for warmth. The base layer is normally very thin and a lot of them don't even have a camo pattern. Your mid layer will be your general all around layer and the outer layer is your waterproof layer. Typically waterproof items like gore-tex, make a lot of noise but in a downpour the animal can't hear it. You usually store your outer layer in your bag until you need it then store it away when you don't. The mid layer comes in different thicknesses for how warm you need it to be and most mid layers are water resistant so if it starts raining a bit you wouldn't need to pull out the outer layer right away. If you couldn't afford all the layers, the Sitka Kelvin Down WS Hoody, Badlands Pyre, or Browning Hellfire jackets are an excellent choice for an all around jacket with great water protection and warmth. The Browning Hellfire Pants is also a great all around choice for your lower. There is several layer combinations you could do as some companies will combine a base with a mid layer or a mid layer with an outer layer but the general rule of thumb is base, mid, and outer.
