I just installed a Knoxx Specops recoil reducing stock onto my HP9-1. This is a new stock from TSE. On the bottom of the pistol grip there appears to be a small hinged cover. Does this open for storage? i don't want to force it and break something before it fires it's first shot and it arrived without any documentation.

No, under that cover you will see one of the two springs used in the recoil system. The other spring is in the butt extension.
Congrats on the Knoxx, I'm sure you will love it. :)

Should slide back away from the pointy end. Your stash goes there:)

Another question as I hijack my own thread:

I have read on the internet (so it must be true) that that if I put the muzzle on the floor and press down on the pistol grip the receiver should move backwards an inch. I have tried this and it doesn't budge. Is this normal on a new unused Specops stock? Is it just that the springs are very stiff or am I not pressing down hard enough or is the stock defective?
