Hi,

Other than a CR Speed holster (which I have and works great), what else is there? I've seen people shoot what looked like SpeedSec holsters with an SP01 (the type which only grips onto the trigger guard). Who has those for sale? Anything else?

Thanks!

yeah, I see what he has on the website, I'll ask... I'm hoping something local, in Canada... I like the Sig Speedsec I have, so I'm hoping I can get that for the SP01 too (I also have a Ghost for the Glock, so that would work too, but I just "like" the other better ;) )

omen, I believe Angus H uses a Ghost with his SP01. You might want to drop him a line.

Angus uses a Bladetech drop-offset.

However ghostholster.com for anything CZ my friends. Buy a ghost for the SP01 and give us product review!

Just ordered some CR speed mag pouchs from Ghost holster. You wont be disappointed with Angus.

I have heard that a couple of SP-01's have been dropping out of Ghosts, although of course Angus will not agree. I find that CR Speed make great speed holsters, and they hold the SP-01 nice and firm.

Well, I'd be more inclined to think that way about a Tanfoglio Stock; the SP01 is a police/combat pistol, marketted and used as such. It just happens to be of fairly good quality and balance, so it becomes an excellent IPSC gun. It's not a race gun by any means...

I agree with you Omen.

I was just responding to Beltfeds response. Comes from a talk we had over some beers concerning a conversation I had at an IPSC match.

I love my SP01. My first ever pistol and my favorite ... even if its a "Race Gun".

I have a Bladetech DOH from Angus. I've never lost my gun.

It fits well and is secure, and I can get a pretty fast draw from it....faster than Matt Dillon...even...

Marlin, do you find that the Bladetech leaves scratches on the dustcover of your SP-01? I found that mine did, so went back to the CR Speed.

Although I don't own or use an SP01, I have used Bladetech belt, Bladetech DOH with Tech-lok, and the Speedsec for my USP.
The Bladetechs are both good holsters, with the DOH more comfortable for the draw and the height at which it is positioned on your hip. They are both adjustable for the amount of tension wanted, which may effect the drawing, but not much.
The Speedsec is a very nice, competition/ range holster. I was nervous at first when using it, because if you forget to lock it, your pistol WILL fall out with some movement. When it is locked it will not fall out.
My draws are a .10-.15 faster with the Speedsec.
The speedsec is open, so there is nothing to rub off or mark the finish on your gun, BUT, your sights are exposed to getting bumped on targets stands, walls, etc...
With the Bladetech, your front sight is protected, but you may get some minor holster wear; but not as bad as a Fobus.

Yes the Bladetech leaves scratches but the pistol stays in the holster all the time.

How do you like the CR Speed compared to the DOH? How much faster are you if at all?

I would say I am probably .5 of a second faster with the CR, but then again I am what you may describe as a 'cautious' drawer.

I generally prefer to use a duty type holster because I think it is more in the spirit of production, and I believe that it is more practical. However I am switching to the CR for my SP-01 because I am not happy with the marks it is leaving using the Bladetech!

You lost a half a second with that holster?

Yep, but as I said I am not a fast drawer at the best of times.

With a CR your draw does not need to be as vertical, if you know what I mean. They are good holsters if you are willing to pony up the cash. Personally it has not made an amazing difference to my shooting, but I guess .5 is .5 for me...
