Speedloader for PPC

The HKS and non Comp-III speedloaders by Safariland need to be inserted, and the button turned to release the rounds. The comp-III's are spring loaded, and release and push the rounds into the chamber, no twisting of a button needed. It's just a hair faster. Either can be used quickly enough for competition.

Stay away from the HKS loaders. Use the Safariland comp 2 or 3. Preferably the comp 3. After years of carrying a model 10, the conclusion is that the HKS allows movement of the rounds in the secured loader. This situation does not work well for those that want to speed load properly. Alignment problems are consistant and intolerable for duty use and IMHO compition use.

Used properly the Comp 2 & 3's are an easy to load and easy to work dependable alternative.

I use the comp 2. (They don't dig into my middleaged gut as much as a comp 3 would when in the sitting or kneeling position.) Safariland are a little faster and easier to use. They also seem to hold the rounds a little firmer, they don't wobble around when reloading quite as much as the HKS. HKS are fine for the initial load, or on some of the stages where you have a bit more time. I think you are best to pick one type and avoid mixing different types of speedloaders while in a match. Just one less thing to have to think about.
