I bought a used Remington 552 Speedmaster, this rifle jams all the time when the bullet a feeds the new round into the chamber, then I have to hold the action open and use dental picks to remove the round. I have tried Federal Eagles, Winchester Super X, Blazers, and Yellow jackets; I have had the best luck with Yellow Jackets, only jamming on about every 3rd round. I have the owners manual; I have taken the trigger mechanism out and removed the barrel and bolt and cleaned and oiled them. Can someone give me some pointers on what to do now?

You have done the right thing cleaning the action and bolt, oiling I have mixed experience doing so.

Regular gun oil will attract powder fouling and will gum up the insides very fast, I have tried Remington dri-lube which works better but will still cake the action up after a couple hundred rounds.

So far dry moly lube has worked the best for me so far on my 552, Also stay away from ammo that emits the greyish dust (powder fouling).

hope this helps.

Are the shells sticking in the chamber??
If so , take the barrel off again and clean the chamber
You can use a cleaning brush in a cordless drill if you stay
back fom the rifling.

I used to have a Jammington 552 also, had most trouble shooting in the winter :mad:until I started using Remington Dry Lube which helped a lot but still had trouble off and on ...
Good luck
Bob
