Would anyone happen to have the Speer #12 load data for 130 and 140 grain bullets in 6.5x55 Swede?
I heard that Speer manual had 6.5x55 loads in it for modern firearms that were separate from the older military loads.
Thanks in advance.

Nosler data is pretty good for modern firearms and have the "warning" not to blow up your old Krag.

The Speer (I have it somewhere) was nothing impressive, they used faster powders then most people would use in this cartridge and velocity was not great.

I checked and my Speer is #13, but does state the loads are "50,000cup vs industry standard 46,000cup" and not to be used in krags and swedes (Swedes are not a problem BTW, just the gas handling if a case should fail is not great).
They only list 120's and 140's because that is all they make for pills.
120's top out at 2895fps.
140's top out at 2671fps.
The Nos data above is warmer, be safe and work up slow, pressure climbs fast with some of the long pills if you rifle doesn't have a typical long leade. I have 1 rifle that won't go near max without pressure signs (BSA CF2) so it either has a tighter or shorter throat then my HVA's/PH's/Howa's do.

The IMR data had hotter minimum and maximum loads than the Nosler, I contacted them and they said they were tested for all 6.5x55mm pressures. That being said I stopped at the max of the Nosler and on the low end of the IMR with a 142gr ELD-X bullet, 2550fps out of the M38 barrel, jumping up 1 more grain of powder went up to 2650fps, there was a huge velocity spike and a stiffer bolt lift so I backed it back down. This was all with PPU brass.

Steve4102 on the Nosler forum has compiled a interesting list of modern 6.5X55 max loads
If you back off and work up im sure you will find something that works for you

I have Speer#12 and it only has 1 list for 6.5x55, but it does say "REDUCE MAX LOADS BY ONE GRAIN IF YOU ARE LOADING FOR A MILITARY MAUSER OR KRAG".

Only has 120 and 140gr bullets. Fastest 140gr load is 48gr RE22 for 2671fps.

Comparing to Nosler data, Nosler lists lower loads but with more velocity.

newbie bumping a 6 year old thread..... take a look at the date before you post.

Oh FFS stupid necro bumps...

Speer 14 has separate Military and Modern sections for 6.5x55 Swede if OP is still looking after 6 years. 90, 120and 140gr only in the Modern section
