SPEER .30 cal 168gr Target Match

SPEER is claiming a BC of 0.534 for their .30 cal 168gr Target Match!

When I saw this I checked other manufacturers target match bullets, they don't even come close to the SPEER claim (the same bullet weight). Well the Berger Hybrid is the closest I can see.


Hornady = BC of 0.450

the 165/168/190/200g boat tail bullets have increasing BC as they go up in weight

He is comparing 168 grain bullets from various manufacturers.

OP - I'm surprised at Speer's claims. Do you know if all of the manufacturer BCs are G7 or are we mixing G1 with G7?

That said, I've read that in testing most of the claimed BCs were found to be a tad optimistic.

Really surprise of their claim for the 168 gr Target Bullet.

This is what I found on another site about this bullet it seems that speer either made a typo or miscalculated the actual bc of the bullet , here is what someone that seems to know how to calculate it posted:
