Bought a box of Speer Bonded Impact bullets because I couldn't find accubonds anyw20220721_195914.jpghere. I shoot a recently purchased Tikka 300wsm T3 wideland camo rifle.
I've put about 60 rnds through it and have groups from .33 to 1.4, most at about 1".
The first and only group using this bullet I fired was using Superformance.
The .33 were with Sierra Gamechanger 165gr but am apprehensive about its performance.
ANYBODY ELSE try Speer Impact Tipped Bonded?

I am going to try some of these in my 30-06 rifles.
Thinking 2900 fps, and if they shoot well, I'll go
shoot a moose or a Black Bear and see. Dave.
 
the gap isn't as big after shipping costs are calculated. X-Reload is $35 freight, we are $15

It's definitely hard to compete with some of the online warehouse prices out there these days. We try our best to balance competitive pricing and making enough profit to keep our doors open

Saskdude99, those bullets will hold up very well as long as your shots are not under 50 yards. Anything over that and performance will be stellar, even if you hit bone. This is from personal experience.

I wouldn't feel like I had to be to careful with that bullet with the velocities generated by the 300WSM. I've used other bonded Speer bullets, such as the Grand Slam in both 30cal(180) and 6.5cal(140) with excellent results.

I saw a study done by Shooting Times where they used ballistic gel as a medium to determine how well different bullet types and offerings would hold together during impact velocities of 2000fps and 3000fps.

This bullet was very similar in performance to Sierra/Hornady/Norma/Swift/Nosler bullets of the same or similar construction.

They all penetrated at least 12 inches at 3000fps and retained appx 25% of their weights when fired into the gel at point blank range.

They all penetrated appx 14 inches at 2000fps and retained up to 65% of their weight, with perfect mushrooms shapes at point blank range.

They're good bullets. If you plan on shooting from a tree stand, at 10-50 yards, then use another bullet.

There are very few bullets that will stand up to that type of abuse and the results may not be desireable.

When I know I'm going to be shooting from a tree stand or blind and the shots won't be over 50 yards, I use a different load with those bullets and keep velocities under 2500 fps. Or more often, I use a different rifle, chambered for a milder cartridge.

I have never been a one rifle for all types of shooting supporter.
 
Well, I got a chance to try these 172 grain Speers in 2 - 30-06 rifles.

One is a Weatherby Lazerguard [Howa]
The other is a T/C Icon all weather. Both have 24" barrels.

The Icon loved them at 2940 fps, two 3-shot groups flirting with 5/8 moa.
The Lazerguard did not like them as well, but still hunt-able at 1.2 moa. @ 2885 avg.

Keep in mind, this is with one powder only. [N - MRP] Another powder may yield
different results in the Lazerguard.

I think I'll try one on a Whitetail buck and see. Dave.
