Spent Shotgun Shells Tight in Chamber?

I suppose I am not being clear. At this point, I do not have an issue with extraction, just a question:
Can you insert a spent shell into your removed barrel and pull it out by hand?

Extraction is easy when using the pump action. Ejection MIIIIGHT be an issue. It doesn't really matter which shells I use. The area of expansion I am talking about (as mentioned in my first post) is the HULL of the shell causing some friction when pulling the shell out. I cannot pull it by hand when the barrel is removed BUT I can pull it easily with a ballpoint pen in the ejection notch. Is this similar what YOU are able to do?

Just tried it in my spare 870 barrel.

Challenger low base extra light shells fired in a different gun go in and out easy. Pull out with finger nail.

Two different high base shells, fired in different guns won't even go in, never mind come out.

It's funny. I know it's a difficult idea to get ones head around but here it is. The last time I was at the range, I had a barrel that would have shells get stuck but not at the metal, or so I think. I was wondering what kind of tolerances there should be for a spent shell to be removed. If I have to remove metal from the chamber because mine is just too narrow, great! If not, I wonder where that line is of tolerance. I just want to know how much I should expect to be able to drag out by finger nail.

Thanks for the replies so far!

It's not about us not being able to get our head around something, it's about you not being able to get your head out of something.f:P:

You are wasting your time worrying about something that is totally meaningless.

Alright, alright. There is a problem and i want to fix it but spinning tires here is no way to get it done. Ill try machining and if that ruins the barrel, I'm not going to be out much. Let's just let this thread burn out. Thanks to those who made the effort to help! Happy shooting, everyone!
