Sphinx/Kriss SDP Alpha compact 9X19 opinions

Never handle or shot one but I was always curious about this handgun as well.
I'd buy one but at that price, there are other options with more aftermarket/warranty support.

One of the best pistols available under $1,000. Quality and finish are excellent and far superior to the CZ version.

Only criticism is size, but its a sub-compact so you get what it states on the box. I would love a full sized version, but they are rare.

Candocad.

Love mine. Feels great and really 'solid' in the hand. And like most things Swiss it's built like a fine watch.
I cannot think of a better quality pistol for under a grand.

Just watched the Hickok45 video on them and I think he said they went for $1,200 - $1,300 in the US. Seems like we get then for a real bargain here, I wonder why??

I picked one up from Durham last fall. Great pistol and very well made. Sights are good and the pistol is very accurate.
I was a little concerned about the pistol being discontinued and getting parts, mags etc. I was able to order some ten round mags from the US at a very reasonable price and have been very happy with this pistol.

There are two versions of the Kriss-branded Sphinx SDP Compact pistol - the all-metal "Stainless" version with a 2-piece frame made of a steel rails mated with an aluminum grip, and a "Polymer" version with a 3-piece frame consisting of steel rails, an aluminum frame and a polymer grip. The all-metal "stainless" version (pictured below) fetched a premium and sold for approx $1200 in Canada whereas the Polymer version was priced considerably lower in the $800 range.

I am guessing that the two different versions of the same pistol are what accounts for the pricing discrepancy that you are witnessing.

They are outstanding handguns, full-stop.
