I notice that the prices for Stag parts at Arms East are about the same as the price for Spikes at Fabsports. Any compelling reason to choose one brand over the other?

My plan is to build an upper for my Bushmaster lower (Magpul parts and DPMS LPK).

Normally I try to balance quality and price but in this case it seems that one may be about as good as the other and the price is almost bang on between the two retailers.

Parts would be:
  • Stripped upper
  • Charging handle
  • bolt & carrier
  • delta ring
  • carbine gas tube & misc small parts.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Which do you like better- deer or spiders? Pick that way!! :D

I have Stag, and the quality is great, however I've heard nothing but good stuff about Spike's quality. Spike's is making a good move into the AR market, balancing quality without being overly expensive.

You can't go wrong with either. Just build it, shoot it, and enjoy the new flavour of Kool-Aid.

Stag & Walter get 2 thumbs way up from me!

Stag, spikes, upper, lower

doesnt really matter, they are all made to same specs.

Whats important is good parts kit, and other internals. As well as a great barrel.

Basic Stag uppers come fully assembled from Arms East, while Spike are only available in parts.

Really, what exactly is the difference? Thought both come with forward assist and ejection port door?

I emailed Arms East for a shipping quote yesterday. I also had a few questions re: small parts. Received a very prompt and thougthful response from Steve today. Those guys are sure on the ball with the customer service aspect of their business.
