Spike uppers

not from what i have read. Spikes uppers come from cerro forge in the U.S using US labor while the norinco comes from what ever toxic metal the chicoms have an over quota of, cobbled together by barefoot 11year olds.

lol thats what I thought, he was pretty admit that they where junk

He doesn't know what he's talking about. Spikes makes a good copy of a US mil spec M16/M4 receiver set, except in semi-auto. Actually, a fairer comment is that they outsource their forged receiver sets to another American company, Aero Precision, who makes a very nice forged AR15 receiver set and puts Spike's name on it... but that's another story.

Spikes also sells billet receivers that, if memory serves, are also made in the USA by Mega.

Spike and Norinco are the same, in the way that both are made out of a forged 7175 aluminum receiver and dimensionally they are machined based on US mil specs, but you can pretty much say the same thing for just about every AR manufacturer's upper.

They are just a simple no thrill no frill upper that well serve you will enough for what we are allow to use an AR in this country for.

Is this based on having actually held one in a gunstore? Maybe try taking one to a range (after getting the correct PAL and paperwork when you're old enough) and actually putting some rounds through it before pretending to understand what you're talking about, because it's clear that you're so far out of your lane that you're going to need an on ramp to get back where you belong.

As far as the Spikes LE uppers go, they seemed to be a great deal, Wylde chamber, chrome lined, FA BCG, 1/2x28 threaded and buffer for a very reasonable price.

Spikes is full milspec and in the same category as Colt, LMT, BCM, and Daniel Defence. You bought a good quality upper and if someone compares it to Norinco they don't have a clue what they are talking about.

Go to http://www.ar15pro.net/2011/02/which-brand-of-ar15-is-best.html for a good read on the different brands of AR's

I was thinking winch, tow truck and labour force to clear a path through the swamp and bush.

Nothing wrong with Norc ARs for entry level.

I think the Spikes would be a good upper, though I haven't used too many myself.

as all the poster above have mention, spikes uppers are from cerro (key hole marked), and quite a few companies actually uses it. Aero Prec, model1sales and a few others. They are good uppers,as i have 2 (1 from model1sales,1 from spikes) theres nothing wrong with them. If the seller thinks spikes are junks then i dont know what is good a brand? Nasa international space station proof-marked upper(?) design to shoot aliens up to 4 millions light years away?

My friend have Spike AR and he had no issues with it. I think it's better quality than Norinco, but even à Norinco will do the job. Nobody is going to war with is AR in Canada.
